Documentation of all aspects of Ed Fletcher's business career, particularly his water-related enterprises. Also included is a large group of photographs documenting the Fletcher family, various dam construction projects, and San Diego buildings and views. Also includes extensive correspondence, legal documents, reports on hydraulics, drafts of articles, maps, and blueprints. Other correspondents include San Diego mayors and councilmen, State officials, U.S. and California legislators, governors of Baja California, and Fletcher's many attorneys. Business records include numerous documents from the Cuyamaca Water Company. The State Senator materials are in no way a comprehensive record of Fletcher's activities in office; included are materials on his efforts to establish the Cabrillo National Monument.

Papers of prominent San Diego businessman Colonel Edward ("Ed") Fletcher (1872-1955), a land developer, civic leader, and member of the California State Senate (1934-1946). Born in Mass., Fletcher came to San Diego in 1888 and by the 1920s was extremely influential and prosperous.
